Research on brain development is changing how we think about the early years. It has produced new insights on interacting with a child, managing behavior, and preparing children to enter school healthy and ready to learn. Smart Start offers family-focused programs that improve parenting and promote involvement giving parents tools to increase their knowledge of early childhood development and positive parenting practices
The Parents as Teachers Program helps parents learn about early brain development. Through an understanding of what to expect at each age of development, a parent can use teachable moments in everyday life to enhance their child’s intellectual growth, language development, social development, and motor skills.
Smart Start Partnership for Children partners with the Children and Family Resource Center to provide Parents as Teachers in Henderson County.
