The current COVID19 crisis has affected us all. Our thoughts are with all of our Henderson County families as we adjust to a new normal. While staff is teleworking and practicing staggered scheduling, here at Smart Start Partnership for Children we are continuing to push forward with our work and goals. We are still mailing books to children, still supporting our early childhood education centers, and still supporting all the families in Henderson County.
In this vein we have pulled together resources for our early childcare community and families to help navigate the Coronavirus pandemic.
If you leave home, practice your Ws: Wear, Wait, Wash
- Wear a cloth face covering if you will be with other people.
- Wait 6 feet apart. Avoid close contact.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.
Wear. Wait. Wash. As North Carolina eases some COVID-19 restrictions, the NC Department of Health and Human Services is asking people to remember these three things to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve.

Supporting our local community: Love Hendo
A special thank you to our Board of Directors
We want to take a moment to recognize two of our board members who are working hard for the community. Becky Reid and Renay Knapp pictured below have been hard at work making cloth masks for the community. Between the two of them they have made 229 masks and 7 isolation gowns. The masks have been donated to Assisted Living Facilities, Memory Care Centers, Vendors at farmers and tailgate markets, and friends and relatives. The isolation gowns were gifted to the staff at Four Seasons Hospice. Please join us in recognizing their hard work and efforts to support the community during this crisis. We are lucky to have these strong community members as a apart of our board. From all of us here at Smart Start Partnership for Children we say thank you.
