North Carolina Partnership for Children (Smart Start)
North Carolina’s award-winning early childhood initiative designed to ensure that all children are ready for school. These funds, awarded annually, must support evidence-based or evidence-informed programs and services for children ages birth to five.
United Way of Henderson County
United Way of Henderson County uses a community impact model to make a difference in our community by mobilizing people and resources to change conditions in our community and improve lives. United Way of Henderson County intentionally supports programs that improve the education, income, and health of this community. Community Foundation of Western North Carolina
The Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1978 to build a permanent pool of charitable capital for the 18 counties of Western North Carolina including the Qualla Boundary. They work with individuals, families and corporations to create and manage charitable funds and make grants to nonprofits or public agencies in our region.
Town of Mills River
Incorporated in June 2003, the Town of Mills River lies within minutes of Pisgah National Forest, Interstate 26, and Asheville Regional Airport. The Town of Mills River supports Kindergarten Transition work through Smart Start at Mills River Elementary and Glenn Marlow Elementary.
Dogwood Health Trust
Dogwood Health Trust is a private foundation based in Asheville, North Carolina with the sole purpose of dramatically improving the health and wellbeing of all people and communities of 18 counties and the Qualla Boundary in Western North Carolina.
